Retirement sounds so far from now, at least for me.

Chris Monroe is one sweet lady who worked her way to the top, and she is now retiring after 35 years of hard work with the same district.

She confessed was was, indeed, counting down the days.

You may have seen her walking the halls with her dog Rudy, or you’ve seen her in the copy room, helping teachers with their paperwork and laminating. Chris Monroe joined the Wolfpack family over seven years ago but has worked with the Lee district for 35 years.

Her job here at south is all in the front office she’s either making copies or answering phone calls at the front desk.

“She’s one of the best I’ve ever seen working in the copy room,” Principal Ed Mathews said.

She described her current job as the best job she has had with the district. She started off as a janitor and ended up being a sub, working with PreK, and she even worked as a PE instructor.

Over the years she has seen some of her students she taught as little kids graduate, She is happy about being able to watch her students grow and start their adult lives.

“Good luck with everything you do, plan for the future, and God bless you all,” she left as a parting wish to the Wolfpack Family.

The good news is she will still try to visit us with Rudy.
